Are You Ready to Lead and Inspire?

Are you a visionary fundraiser ready to step into a leadership role where your work will have a direct and lasting impact? We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Fundraising to join our Senior Management Team (SMT). This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to lead transformative change and help an organisation achieve its ambitious fundraising goals.

This is a pivotal role, where you’ll inspire, lead, and guide a talented fundraising, marketing, and communications team to deliver a bold, impactful fundraising strategy. You’ll be the driving force behind an annual income of £14 million, developing innovative solutions and ensuring the organisation continues to thrive and grow.

If you’re looking for a role where your skills, creativity, and leadership will make a real difference, this is the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Head of Fundraising, you’ll work closely with the CEO and SMT to shape and implement the organisation’s strategic vision. Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development and Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction for fundraising, marketing, and communications, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals.

  • Contribute to the wider strategic vision as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT).

  • Create and embed a donor-centric culture that prioritises impactful, long-term relationships.

Fundraising Excellence

  • Implement and deliver the organisation’s five-year fundraising strategy.

  • Innovate across all fundraising streams—individual giving, major donor, legacy, trust and corporate, events, and community fundraising.

  • Monitor and analyse fundraising trends, using data-driven insights to optimise performance and develop best practices.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Inspire, coach, and develop your team to reach their full potential.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating passion, professionalism, and a results-driven approach.

Financial and Operational Accountability

  • Oversee the preparation and management of six-figure budgets, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds expectations.

  • Work closely with the Finance team to allocate funds effectively and report transparently to stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an inspiring leader with a proven track record of success in senior-level fundraising. You’ll need:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience developing and implementing high-level fundraising strategies.

  • A strong track record of success in managing six-figure+ budgets and delivering on ambitious income targets.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.

  • Expertise in marketing, communications, and brand development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector, ideally within humanitarian, development, or military causes.

  • Familiarity with CRMs and data-driven fundraising.

  • A project management qualification or equivalent experience.

Personal Attributes

  • A creative thinker with the ability to adapt and innovate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and persuading diverse stakeholders.

  • A passion for making a difference and empathy for humanitarian causes.
