As an Assistant Buyer, you'll work closely with the Head of MDA/SDA, managing your own group of suppliers that contribute significantly to category turnover. You'll also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities through market research and industry analysis, helping to grow the business. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll need to influence and engage at all levels, and provide analytical data to support key decisions.

Key skills required:
We’re looking for someone with strong negotiation skills who can analyze and interpret data, and present it in a clear, meaningful way. You'll need solid computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP), and be able to create professional PowerPoint presentations.
Excellent communication is key, both over the phone and in person, with the ability to present confidently at all levels. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential to ensure information is always clear and professional.
You'll be working in a small, busy team with seasonal peaks, so strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and support teammates when needed are important. We're also looking for someone proactive, able to work independently off-site, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and thriving in a flexible, adaptable environment.
We're looking for someone with previous experience in retail, shop work, or buying. Some experience in a similar role where you've reviewed competitor info, analyzed data, and shared your findings through reports and presentations is a plus. Previous negotiation experience is also important We’re looking for someone with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math, with grades A-C (or 4 and above in the new system). A clean driving license is required, along with competent skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
