We are recruiting for an experienced Accountant to join a management team who will be responsible for all aspects of the financial, operational and business management of an Estate on behalf of Lord Pembroke and Trustees.

The role will be based on the grandest of stages, Wilton Estate, a rural estate covering 5,870 hectares, which encompasses residential and property management, as well as the management of Wilton House. Both the house and grounds are open to the public and used for a variety of events and filming. It also includes a gift shop and café.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns

  • Prepare management accounts and budgets

  • Monitor cashflow forecasts

  • Management of the Estate's accounts team and ensure all procedures are adhered to

  • Prepare draft corporate, trust and personal tax returns

  • Liaise with third parties where necessary relating to Estate matters

  • Management of the Estate's IT consultants

  • Provision of ad hoc reports and analysis as required

  • Deal with financial data related to compliance

Key skills and responsibilities we are looking for in our Estate Accountant:

  • ACCA/CIMA qualified

  • Strong knowledge of excel and financial modelling skills

  • A proven track record of successful leading, managing and motivating teams

  • A multi tasker

  • Good knowledge of income, Corporation and Trust Taxation

  • Familiar with Compliance legislation

  • Good knowledge of networked IT systems
