The Secretary will be working within a Chambers ranked Litigation team specialising in property and commercial disputes. The team consists of nine lawyers and three support team members and the main purpose of the role will be to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Property and Commercial Litigation and Education Teams.
Key objectives and responsibilities
Accurate audio and copy typing
Drafting basic correspondence
Preparing hearing bundles (hard copy and electronic)
Land Registry searches
Relaying accurate telephone messages from clients to fee earners (taking action in fee
earners' absence if appropriate)Diary management (including arranging meetings and making travel arrangements when
necessary)Email management (taking action where appropriate)
Helping fee earners to comply with Best Practice, Risk and Compliance, Money
Laundering and Training requirementsDrafting bills and printing billing guides
Assisting with financial and administrative enquiries from clients and other departments
Dealing with expense claims
General office duties such as filing, photocopying and scanning
Key Experience we are looking for should comprise of:
Previous experience of legal secretarial work would be an advantage. Excellent IT skills, proficient in Word, with knowledge of Excel, PDF documents (or similar) and document and case management systems would also be an advantage.
The position is full time, hours are 35hrs per week 9am - 5pm. There is some flexibility to work remotely at times during the week but the focus is very much on finding a candidate who has the level of experience to compliment the busy nature of the team. Benefits are attractive also, including 33 days annual leave.
